The kids have been taking an acrobatics class for the last ten weeks, through a local theater company called Do Jump! They started out doing simple rolls and basic stuff and worked up to using the trapezes (close to the ground!) and even being able to pull themselves up to a sitting position on the trapeze. They had an end-of-term show this afternoon that was just about the cutesy thing ever. I forgot to bring the camera, but both kids did a great job.
It has been very interesting to take them to the class and to hear about how they're doing from their teachers. It's a class for kids ages 3-5, so both Mateo and Tali got to be in the same class. Mateo, as one of the oldest kids in the class, was very confident and excited about trying all the different moves. Tali, as not only the youngest but the tiniest kid in the class, was much more timid and reluctant to participate. She's quite the little observer at the moment, choosing both at Do Jump and at preschool to be quiet and mostly watch what other kids are doing. I think she takes a lot of comfort from being with Te Te in both situations.
Anyway, they both participated in the show today at their own levels and we were so proud of them. We both had big silly grins on the whole time. I look forward to many more such chances to marvel at our children as time goes by.
